The design I'm gonna have myself branded with

ok, I have spent the past few days sketching then drawing this on the compoopter with the sole purpose of having someone draw it on my right hip, below my clothing line so it's only visible really to me or James. I don't want what round here is knowns as a "slappatag"

it's a filigree heart, but it has some symbolism too. there is an "E" a "J" an "S" and soph's birthday, 04.02.
I figure having jim's initial on it isn't bad because 1. I think we're strong and 2. it's part of the design, so it could just be a couple of random swirls if the worst was to happen *touches wood*

having soph's birthday on there is part 'cos she'll always be my baby, part 'cos that's the day my life changed forever, and finally it's the day I survived. I have been through that, come out the other side, nothing can ever be that bad again and therefore; I rule innit.



so, whaddya think? I've still not been for the allergy test yet and I know it's quite a complicated design lol!

Its cute. It shouldn't b over complicated for a competent tattooist.

Are you going to have it that size? I'd suggest scaling it up a bit - as your skin ages, the tattoo cn sometimes spread slightly, so if you scale it up, you're reducing the chances of it looking like a blob if that happens.

oo thanks for the advice fee. i was thinking of about 6cm across? i've converted the picture to a vector image on phtoshop so it can be scaled up as big as i like.

I think it's beautiful, Mrs F. Why don't you embroider and frame it, rather than put it somewhere no-one can see it (until you get to that nursing home ).

Design is gorg, go for it! I had my one and only tattoo at the tender age of 19 and I have never regretted it. I'm about to turn a significant age, and all this talk of tats has started to rekindle a thought I had about having another one....uh oh....

Confession - the numerous tattoos my lovely daughter has had really upset me -
I like the butterflies on the back of her neck -
don't mind the tiger on her back -
but the hideous 'sleeve' of floralish stuff down one arm id horrid - and the design on her chest, the heart on her shoulder and the one she has chosen not to show me!
She's 19 and I think she'll regret it.

I have 6 tattoos, and i love each of them dearly. One of them has been covered up because the tattooist was an arse, but the one in its place is fab!

I'd rather regret the things i have done than the things i haven't (Lucille Ball) - i'd rather get older and look at my tattoos and think 'ah well, they're a bit spread...and a bit faded and a bit wrinkly' than get to a certain age and decide that even though i wanted a tattoo, i didnt get one and now i'm too old.

Anyway, i could be run over by a bus tomorrow, and then i'd really regret not having tattoos!!

I'm not a tattoo fan but that design is really good. Perhaps you could use it for something else too - it seems a shame that it will be hidden away.

And I love the expressions trampstamp & slappatag. I'd never hear them before. I suppose we live a sheltered life really...

When you said the design you wanted to get branded with I actually thought you meant branding & not a tattoo & when I saw the design I was thinking hows is that going to be branded on you, but the tattoo bit makes more sense
