Seed sowing for my container veg!

Post: # 143263Post Elizabeth »

Well! I have at last got my head around having to grow in containers again this year! :(

So I have been busy this week. :flower:

My heated propagater now has my different types of pepper seeds.
Tomato seeds are sown along with Squash seed.
All the above are on the window sill in the kitchen - that will be a bit of a surprise for hubbie when he gets back.

Outside I have sieved all the compost from my old pots and filled a large plastic box. This I have placed in a cold frame to warm the soil up in readyness for sowing carrots. I have sown a tray of salad leaves and placed in the cold frame.

I also found some spring bulbs which were sprouting - so have potted them up in the hope of a pretty surprise!

Next will be changing the compost in my strawberry grower and sowing herb seeds.

OOh you've got me thinking I sould be sowing seeds now.I scrubbed the greenhouse a few weeks ago and at the weekend emptied all the old compost out of pots(had to throw it as my toms got blight last year)but found a pack of seed trays, lids and plug trays small and pot size that I bought last summer in the sale at sainsburys for 74p so just need to look through the seed box and sow away.I have peas in the greenhouse and some salad leaves but have a sort of empty feeling that I only have a few onions and garlic left from all my crops.I have leeks, over wintering onions and garlic in but nothing ready.....
Grow it,make it ,eat it, drink it and sleep well!

Today I got on with sowing some more different toms and some herbs; basil and coriander.

There is no no more room on the window sill. Hubbies face should be a picture when he gets home tomorrow! :pale:
