Mysterious Tractor Tracks....

Post: # 141404Post JulieSherris »

So I pop out today for a couple of hours...

I went & saw Camile again (lovely proper strong coffee!) went to get a few supplies & got back....

Unpacked my bag, quietened the dogs, popped the kettle on Stan to boil & got my garden jacket on to get the peats in & split some wood.... headed off up the garden & noticed fresh tractor tracks in the drive... ??

Well, hubby is still digging the track out for the tractor, so he hadn't ordered peats... and our driveway just goes to our back gardens, so WHY had a tractor been up our drive?

Hmmm... I get to the derelict cottage... the tracks go up on the grass, & around the back towards the dog shed... mysterious indeed... there's no way into the woods from there, because we've fenced it all off.....

And what do I find at the end of the tracks?
A 4 foot high massive, humungous pile of cow muck!!
Woohoo!!

I'd asked our neighbours for some a few weeks back, but thought they'd forgotten... so now we have our very own dung heap ready for my raised beds - and it's fairly rotted too.... they said that the young lad didn't have school today, so was made to take a tractor & dig out the bottom of their dung heap for us - poor lad

Oh, if anyone told me 2 years ago that I'd be excited about a tonne of manure........

What a lovely surprise - I think its good to be excited about something 'real'.
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less travelled by
And that has made all the difference.
