Shutting down thoughtful topics

To close down a topic which has new ideas which may or may not be practical is unfortunate. It was done so before I had the chance to explain to Big Al the reason behind it which he appeared not to follow. 2 others showed an absurd reaction to what was a serious issue. One of that pair closed the topic. Where's the justice of this decision?

bear in mind people who run forums can be sued for anything said by their members, it's the forum owner's responsability to keep it friendly.
I don't know wht actually went on but I'm totally and completely sure that the powers that be on here had their reasons.

This matter should be discussed by pm to Andy - who I believe has sent you a message regarding the situation.
