Ive just dug out some french drains in my garden using some perferated plastic piping but could only get a large roll of it.
it was approx 25 meters long and I only used about 5meters of it!!!
Its just sat in my garden and is free to anyone who can make good use of it.

Sounds interesting!
I don't know what a French drain is though so have no idea what the pipe is like - how big it is etc.
More info please

I'm in Wigan, but I can't think of anything I need any piping for...I'll get back to you if I come up with any ideas!
Re: free land drainage pipe in wigan area
Its approx 20m long, 8cm wide flexi pipe with small holes along the sides.
you use it to drain waterlogged land by digging a small trench, line it with weeding sheets (to keep the mud from clogging the holes) and surround the pipe with pebbles then you wrap the lot up in the sheeting and bury it. the you can plant grass, veg, whatever on top. the water in the soil soaks in through the weed sheet into the pipe and gets directed away from the area.
Its brilliant, we had literally about 12" of top soil laying on top of solid rubble that was like a mud slide, the grass had died off it was so saturated.
we dug the drainage pipe in and within the week the land was 'normal'. weve now got a lovely green lawn with boarders at last!

Excellent.
Now I'm wondering what other uses the pipe could be put to.
