I need to get one to cut through a Kryptonite ulock on the bike. Which is the cheapest grinder or disc that will do the particular job (I'm sure I'll never need to use it for anything else)?

I use angle grinders almost every work day. If I may offer some precaution when you get one to use..... be VERY AWARE that you must cut straight through the item you are cutting.
You'll need to ensure the Lock is held firm when cutting it.

Most of the cutting blades are only 1 millimeter thick and they are spinning at many thousands of revolutions per minute.(rpm)
It may seem a basic thing to mention but they can be very dangerous when the disc shatters whilst in use.
Never tilt the angle to one side while cutting something. If its going in the incorrect direction. remove it and start a cut again in a different angle or place.
You can buy a grinding disc for the same machine which can easily smooth off any roughness, sprags / burring. Or even to correct a wrong angle so as it looks better.
They are great tools but I hope you'll get some safety specs as well.
Best wishes to thee.

I've used angle grinders for many years and while I've never had an accident I would most heartily concur on the potential dangers.
I'm not sure how hard those locks are but allow for a couple of discs I would say as metal discs do seem to wear quickly. One other thing I will add is to watch where the sparks are going. I've a friend who did some cutting in front of his van and afterwards found the sparks had embedded themselves in his windscreen. Make a similar mistake and you could find knackered tyres for instance.
Just in case anyone thinks regular angle grinding discs just aren't dangerous enough have a go with one of these,
