How do I make a rocket stove

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

How do I make a rocket stove

Post: # 162532Post Doc »

Want to make a rocket stove?

If so check it out over here for more detailed info.

Use a drum with a hole cut in the bottom

Use matching cans for ease of stacking.

These were all the same brand baked beans.

Use ash to fill the drum

Put the kettle on :metal:

Cooks boiling water within minutes - lots of heat, fuel efficient, no smoke.

Great for stir frys :salute:

rocketingly yours

Ahhhh now it makes sense because unless you look at your blog there's something glaringly missing - a heat source! I was wondering what exactly it was that made it heat up.

correct me if im wrong, but you can make it even more efficient by putting a horizontal divider accross the bottom cans like this: (-)
then only feeding wood in the top "shelf" - i have read that this is supposed to suck more oxygen for an even more complete combustion . . .
