The sun is shining! This is our first fab day since 2nd June (I remember that date because my mum went home the following day). :flower:

Out with the sunlounger and my binocs to watch my silly ducks and count how many baby moorhens are left - started with six that hatched a week ago and at last count down to 5.

Sorry if it is raining for any of you guys (not!) ha ha ha     To compensate it is due back here again tomorrow!

Its just started to rain here - yet again!!! I guess its not so bad - its held off all day up until now - the trouble is its also quite muggy - but not muggy enough for a thunder storm - just sticky - yuck!! On the up side it looks like we are growing triffids in the garden, everything has been so well watered! As its so warm as well as wet, last night my daughter spent ages jumping in a puddle on the path - holding her rather fetching bright yellow sunshine umbrella - just to keep the rain off!!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

It's been trying to rain here all day. A few spots and it stops. Then it starts again.

What I don't understand is why the ground is rock hard and my pots are all wilting. We've had so much rain that with this clay soil, I should be living in a lake.

Cheers

It's grey and drizzly now - I knew it! It is due to be hot this weekend though. Hopefully that might prompt some of my 'reluctant' veg to grow - the cucs and melon have been sitting in limbo not getting any bigger for about a month now.

We've had three, non-consecutive, days of sunshine since April 30. It's no wonder our vegetables are seriously checked.

Yesterday turned out nice again after drizzle in the morning, and I can see that my cucumbers literally grew a couple of inches having had two warm days and some sunshine!

Unfortunately from tomorrow the forecast seems to be back to what has become normal for this summer!

Mind you it was hot last night and I didn't sleep very well - I've forgotten what that's like!
