favourite back to nature songs?

:flower: Country Joe and the Fish recorded 'Goin' to the Country' long ago when I was a tiny hippy. It always inspires me when I hear it:

"Gotta get goin', cause I can't stay here long, now.
Cause I'm tired of the way...I've been dogged around.
Well I've got to roam maybe find me a brand-new home.

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

I'm goin' to some place where I've never been before.
I'm goin I'm a goin' where the water tastes like wine.
Well, I'm a goin' where the water tastes like wine.
You can jump in the water and stay drunk all the time!

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away.
I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away.
All this fussin' and fightin...man you know I sure can't stay.

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

Now Baby, packin' up the truck you know I got to leave today,
just exacly where I'm goin' I can not even say
might even up my sticks and leave the USA

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

Gotta get goin' gotta get goin', gotta get goin' gotta get goin'
Gotta get goin'. Well I'm goin', Well I'm goin'...

Gotta get goin', I can't stay here long, now.
Cause I'm tired of the way I've been dogged around.
Well I've got to roam maybe find me a brand new home.

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away.
I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away.

Now Baby, I'm packin' the truck you know I got to leave today,
just exacly where I'm goin' I cannot not even say
this modern life's a game I just don't wanna play.

I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?
I'm goin' up the country, baby don't you wanna go?

More a campaign song really, but I always liked that Joni Mitchell song:

'They paved paradise, put up a parking lot, with a pink hotel, a boutique and a swinging hot spot...don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got til it's gone...etc'

More relevant than ever now.

:flower: You beat me to it both of you! I was going to mention that next.
That was the spiritual hymn of the hippies and is deep on many levels:

JONI MITCHELL lyrics - "Woodstock"

I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, where are you going
And this he told me

I'm going on down to Yasgur's farm
I'm going to join in a rock 'n' roll band
I'm going to camp out on the land
I'm going to try an' get my soul free

We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning

Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe it's the time of man
I don't know who l am
But you know life is for learning

We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration

And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation

We are stardust
Billion year old carbon
We are golden

Caught in the devil's bargain
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden
