It was a dry summer last year and it's been a dry winter.

Not so much dry up here at the moment. It's really cold and hailing!

Cold and raining here.... And it has been since yesterday. While I welcome the rain, I wish it would do that when I'm at work - so much to do in the garden!

We had sleety rain yesterday with snow up on the hills; looks like more of the same today. What fun. As ina says, so much to do outside - on the allotments in my case.

This time last year we were "celebrating" a hot and dry summer. The farmers were muttering about how crops would be affected. At the moment the rain seems to be doing an April showers job through May and June. With winds to dry things up as soon as possible after the rain.

I hear complaints coming - just of a different sort.

I'm certainly celebrating today Flo, and it just goes to show how "accurate" the weather forecasters are, we were supposed to get 2.5 mm of rain overnight and as I have (had) 2 empty tanks any rain is welcomed.
Well this morning I have one and three quarter full tanks amounting to 1700 litres, which means we actually had about 30 mm of rain.
The mountain out back is streaked with the white of multiple waterfalls.

We're just waterlogged and cold. :shaking:

In the winter we move our potted fruit trees out of the wind. At the end of April we moved them to their summer home and a couple of the pear trees have since got severe wind burn on their leaves. It's looking like we'll get our third, or is it fourth, summer of just wind and rain.
