Autumn is here

Our maple trees are changing colour. It has been a warm, very dry summer, and that trend is continuing into the fall. Normally this weekend (Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada) is the peak of the fall colours, but everything is late this year. The trees are just getting started.

We have most of our firewood in the woodshed now.

Very nice.
That's something I miss living here, the leaves don't change colour at all, they just fall off (mainly ripped off by autumnal gales)
On the plus side, it won't be long before they start sprouting again.

Lovely. We had a trip to Inverness on Thursday and commented how quickly the leaves are turning this year - I'm sure they were all quite green a couple of weeks ago.

Aaahhh that is so gorgeous. I could not be happier that it is autumn. I spent the whole weekend digging the patch over and making various hedgerow jellies and chutneys. Bliss!

And today I plan to do some shopping for tights. Nice, woolly tights in plum, mustard and auburn shades. Love autumn!

Contrary to what I said further up the thread, here is my autumn colour.
As I grow (nearly) everything under cover, what's wrong with autumn colour under cover?

That's my purple sprouting broccoli, and in front of it is a pomegranate.
