Let's do this properly Keith - it's bah humbug.

But if everyone has marked (or not) the day according to their customs and maybe found some enjoyment in it, then we can all get on with it and wait for longer days, drier grounds, no more floods and return to normal after the season of rampant consumerism.

I hope that not to many of you have had to endure a remote controlled inflatable minion - it seems that they amuse ages from not quite six to 23 but not exactly their parents.

I've been working my way through all those books I got from the library in preparation... Still haven't started on the bl**dy decorating - although I got a DIY book, too, to make sure I get the wallpaper on straight!

Ah well - almost two more days to go. Plenty of time.

And yes - the fact that the days are getting longer is about the only good part of Christmas.

Ah but it's not over for a couple of days yet dnd until people have been to the sales - and with irregular transport as the last bank holiday here isn't till tomorrow as boxing day was on a Saturday and we have to have another week day in lieu on the mainland, I would say that it's not all over on Tuesday morning.

One year my neigbours froze cubes of turnip, life just doesn't get anymore exciting than that, frozen turnip, yuk, but in Ireland a swede is a turnip, but I like swedes, but not turnips, I'm confused.com
