Whether the weather will cooperate

Good old weather forecasters - conditions spot on, timing well off. It's 0500 and we were woken about an hour ago by torrential rain and thunderstorm. Still it seems to be passing now, although it does tend to keep rolling round the mountains and coming back again.

If I'm not about tomorrow you know it will have knocked out a power line.

Same here - I heard the first rumblings around 3am. Looking fine now, but rain etc forecast for 11am onwards...

Well, the water butt is full now, plants in containers are in danger of being flooded, it's still drizzling (although the forecast says fine for today) - why can't we ever be happy with what we have?!

Well I'm quite pleased at the moment. I can see no sign of blight on my potatoes, which is quite something since we had 100% humidity for at least 4 days last weekend.
I do have signs of it on 2 of my tomatoes though, one is Tamina which Green Aura found tasteless, which is growing very well with huge trusses of huge tomatoes, so far unripe. So I'm hoping she is right, it would be a tad annoying if they were fantastic flavoured, well behaved sturdy growth and huge yield, only to find that it gets blight at the drop of a hat.
The other tomato is Purple Mini-plum, also ex-GA seed, and that one is just starting to ripen so I will at least get the opportunity to taste that one.
Weather back to normal now with westerlies bringing sunshine and showers, and normal humidity.

Purple mini plum was saved seed from some out of T£sco! So apologies for them, to be honest I can't remember how good (or not) they were.

Sorry Tony, according to Suttons "A superb early 'potato-leaved' tomato with an outstanding taste (thought to be better than ordinary-leaved varieties), producing a heavy crop of medium-sized, round fruits - approximately 70gms (2½oz). " Funnily enough none of the sites I looked at mentioned blight. Not a problem up here, thankfully.

I am still waiting for the mass ripening of my tomatoes, I have had some on and off, I even sold some on Friday, but not as many as normal. I have no blight on spuds, which considering the amount of humid days we have had is quite a miracle. Drowning in blackcurrants, can't even rope neighbours into coming and picking some to take away. My autumn onions are flippin huge, which for me is not a good thing, I like onions for two people not a family of 6
