I've made these several times and they are really easy and quick : http://www.aokcorral.com/projects/how2oct2005.htm. Have you se his site: http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php. There are lots of patterns for all sorts of things and lots of really easy ones too!

I crocheted some really simple ones but they would be just as easy to knit.

Knit or crochet a square the same length as your foot. Fold in half and sew together the short ends so that you have a kind of boat shape. Put your foot in it with your heel against the back "seam", flatten the front "seam" over your toes. That will make the sides stick out in points. Fold those over the top and sew them down, decorating them with a nice button or something. You have a slipper. Weave some elastic round the opening so it stays on your foot and sew a sole on if you want it to last a while (a size bigger than your feet, otherwise you wear the slipper out around the edge of the sole). An insole will make it really comfy and warm. If you like it, do another one

They're not particularly pretty, but they do the job.

Me, photos and internet do not work particularly well together, and so I really don't have the patience to resize it in order to get it on this post. If you want to see a picture, there may (or may not) be one here -

PS Please excuse the atrocious sewing

are you on ravelry? Have a look for 'mary Janes' and there should be some simple ones.

I made some for Nik a few years ago, and if my hard drive wasn't dead i'd send you the pattern.

Clare, I made these:

http://knitwits-heaven.tripod.com/pocke ... ippers.htm

They didn't look very attractive on me, I have to say ;-), but they were quick, easy and functional (and there are some projects on ravelry where they look nice, so I am sure it was me and not the pattern!).

crochet slips are proper easy (for when you've done your crochet class)

I just made one starting with a chain half the length of my foot and going round and round it (increasing at the end 'corners' and then decreasing the corners when the piece reached 'sole' size)
but am rubbish at writing the instructions :( must try harder!
