Having a bad day

Post: # 25223Post allthecees »

Just wanted somewhere to let off steam. My husband has just phoned me to say that someone has stolen his bag with his computer, PDA and diary. He has months of crucial work stored on his computer. I feel so angry and so sad that this his happened to him. Its not the fact that the items are valuable but the fact that someone now has access to his personal information. Not a good start to the weekend.

Oh god thats so sh..

Is it password protected though - his work? I would guess the laptop will be sold for cash and no-ones actually going to be interested in its contents. The hard drive will likely be removed, smashed and replaced. Little comfort I know especially after so much work has gone into it. I have to ask though - he didn't back it up? :-S

Comiserations... :(

big hugs to you and your hubby...

Hope he did have a backup... a reminder to us all to back up our computers regularly actually... I'd HATE to lose everything I've got on here.

I am so sorry to hear that you're husband has had his computer and stuff stolen. There's some bad people out there.

I do back up my pc on a monthly basis, but it's still such a nuisance to have all your hard work taken.

Yep, I fully sympathise, having had the same thing happen to me a few months back. I've often thought that a small explosive device fitted to the laptop that goes off if you muff the password would be good. Not just to destroy the computer but blow the thiefs hands off!

Won't do it again, will they?
