COMPETITION TIME!
It's about time we had another competition and this time our prize come courtesy of Godfreyrob
A book about walks in the Yorkshire Dales, with your dog (although I am sure it is just as enjoyable to follow the walks dogless)
Not just for those of us in and around Yorkshire, but maybe those who holiday there or have friends of family in the area. Either way, I am sure it would be a great guide.
The book contains 20 circular walks that:
Keep the road walking to absolute minimum
Lots of off-lead opportunities for your friend
Plenty of rivers and streams to splash in
Avoid difficult styles
Takes you to some great places in the Dales
At the end of each walk there are dog-friendly pubs & cafes where you can sit and have a drink & a meal and your 4-legged friend can sit with you.
Info on nearest vets too.
Availabe online: www.countrysidebooks.co.uk Amazon and the like.
So photos of your dog out enjoying a walk please.
We will shortlist the entrants and put it to a forum vote to see who wins.
Good Luck!

Re: COMPETITION TIME!
But what about people who don't have a dog.......dognapping probably wouldn't be a good idea

Re: COMPETITION TIME!
no one said it had to be a real dog?.... it could be a cuddly toy....someone pretending to be a dog.... a cat dressed up as a dog..... on second thoughts please don't dress up your cat.....

... which opens the door nicely for potentially the strangest competition ever on Ish.
On the other hand, this isn't that kind of site. I hope.

Re: COMPETITION TIME!
Remember those daft 'thingies'.......you know, the stiff lead with a dog collar on the end but no dog.....perhaps? I've seen cats on leads but we don't have a cat either . I've seen a lady cycling along with a parrot on her shoulder so you could do that walking too. Anyway, we don't live anywhere near The Yorkshire Dales.......we know when we're beat! Good luck everybody .

Nor me and I don't have a dog either - I was so excited seeing a new competition as it's about time there was a photo competition - just for fun without prizes would be great - but can't join in this one!spider8 wrote: Anyway, we don't live anywhere near The Yorkshire Dales.......we know when we're beat! Re: COMPETITION TIME!
I get on quite well with our village priest/vicar/rector-type person, who wears a dog collar......... would this count?
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Re: COMPETITION TIME!
Probably but I bet he'd draw the line at wearing a lead and you having a stick for him to fetch .
