How odd!

Post: # 220023Post Milims »

A large mirror that has hung on the wall for over 20 years, first over my mothers mantle piece and later on various of my walls, has just given up the ghost and thrown its self onto the floor and smashed  So do I worry that I'm about to have 7 years bad luck or consider myself lucky to have one less item cluttering up my house that I needed to clean?

And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........

If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. :drunken:

No - the cord was in tact but the screws holding it into the frame had pulled out.

Suicide of a mirror, eh? Plainly, the police are looking into it.

Bad luck is just good luck in disguise anyway! So I think you're fine whatever.

(I remember one of our mirrors doing this once, clearly there's a link between mirrors and lemmings that's never been adequately explored ;-) ).

Count yourself lucky. If that was in my house, the screws would have stayed in the wall but the wall would have fallen down.

I had a picture attempt suicide off a wall yesterday. Unfortunately, I found that it had been pushed as the plaster had in fact, given way. Additionally, the picture caused the death of a figurine I painted about 10 years ago /sadface. And it was one of a pair /sadderface.

I shouldn't worry about the 7 years bad luck thing,it was a superstition that was based on practicality, mirrors were made from a thin sheet silver with glass on them, so back in those days it would have cost seven years of saving for a rainy day for the moderate to do families to replace
