Tea News...
I was just enjoying that bastion of journalistic integrity knwon as the Daily Mail (ermmm.. please don't judge me...but I NEED to know about what Peaches Geldof is up to and I have an unhealthy interest in Kerry Katona) and I read this good news about tea:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... rated.html and I was happy slurping away (all lady like) on my tea when I read this:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... -risk.html... I choose to believe that the first article is absolutely true and the second is absolute piffle.
Isn't it great having so much information out there.. you can always count on there being a study somewhere to support your point of view!It is a bit like pick and mix ....
Actually if I am truthful I don't believe anything I read on the Mail website...

You can also take heart (literally) with today's BBC news ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/10350373.stm
Drinking tea and much more importantly, COFFEE, is actually good for you, at least today it is .. tomorrow it will probably be announced that it's deadly poison.
As I drink 6 mugs of coffee every day, it seems I will live forever.

BBC News Channel addict here, not read a paper (online or otherwise) for years. (Therefore not sure who some of the above 'celebs' are, sorry.)
My Mum told me tea had a mild antibiotic element & that those who drank a few cups a day had less upset stomachs. Dunno if this is really true, but I love my tea so if that's a side benefit all the better.

Re: Tea News...
Caffeine in tea and coffee does cause problems with some sorts of arthritis. I'm afraid the women in my family know that one only too well. Mind the caffeine in Coke does no good either.
Mind the poor old pot of tea has good company - red meat and alcohol are bad for arthritis too. Expect that the beef and port are the reasons why the Duke of Edinburgh suffers as he does.

Re: Tea News...
I think that "celebrities" like Peaches Geldof, Katie price and Kerry Katona don't actually do anything of note anywhere so that makes them sort of universal, I must say that I had no idea who Cheryl cole was until I read the mail and foolowed he marriage breakup...*cringe*. If I want a somewhat credible ish kind of viewpoint I try to read the Times (Australian News papers are very blah.) but I am suspicious of all media and at the same time addicted, like I am to tea...
I am keeping tea though I have already given up cigarettes compulsive spending, biting my nails and drink less in a year than I used to in a night so I am keeping tea... and chocolate.. no matter what the Mail says...

Re: Tea News...
Definitely universal, mostly universally disliked! Good old Katie, I like reading about what she's been up to just for a laugh but I am banned from watching the now defunct 'Katie and Peter Show' on telly. 'What Peter did Next' doesn't interest me but she does. But they are not worth a divorce (mine I mean) over.Jessiebean wrote:I think that "celebrities" like Peaches Geldof, Katie price and Kerry Katona don't actually do anything of note anywhere so that makes them sort of universal

Re: Tea News...
I have to say, I don't partake in this celebrity thing other than to laugh generally at them all. There was a point when i was a trash addict though and couldn't get enough. As for the tea, I don't like tea unless it's herbal, but my caffine fix comes from a far worse source, along with Taurine and god only knows how many E numbers!

Reading the 'Daily Mail' raises the paranoia risk. God, how I detest that hard-hearted, narrow-minded, mean-spirited, racist, xenophobic, selfish, po-faced, pompous arse-wipe of an excuse for a newspaper!Jessiebean wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... -risk.html[/url...

Re: Tea News...
Off topic a bit but some time ago we discovered that most tea bags are put together with polypropylene glue and as I don't like the sound of that have gone back to loose tea..........side benefit I had forgotten how much better it tastes.Jessica

Re: Tea News...
Interesting about the glue- that doesn't sound good. I might get us some loose tea and see how we go.
By the by I am now a recovering Mail reader... I am now addicted to the Guardian... It kind of seems like it might have some merit (I say guardedly- news media all seems very suspect to me) I accidently read the Sun the other day but then I needed to scrub my brain and the dirt isn't coming off...
