Ah good, I thought it was just me! I don't like the ads down the side, it squishes it all up for those with a small screen like me!
Edited to say that I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom now to read posts properly, maybe the ads would be better on the right hand side?

Re: Active topics not there?
the way active topics work has changed in the latest version of the forum software, we (the mods/admins) need to change a setting on each forum, this will take a bit of time.
It will return to normal soon'ish.
sorry to hear you are having issues with the screen size, I checked on loads of browsers and screen size on the test site.
I will run the tests again and tweak where needed

Re: Active topics not there?
Thank goodness for that, I was beginning to think it was just me.
The forum pages for me are all waay too big, as is the font size, and I also have to use the bottom scroll bars to centre and read the text.
I'm using Firefox the same as lots of others.

Re: Active topics not there?
I'm on firefox too, font size too small (ok on all other websites), but the most annoying thing having to scroll to the right to read anything - almost unusable!!! I understand the need for adverts, but also that this forum is such a useful support network for people wanting to be more self sufficient. I really hope it can get sorted as I'm sure it'll put people off

Seems to be a problem on resolutions of 1024x768 and lower.John Headstrong wrote: It will return to normal soon'ish.

Just checked on two machines who have res of 1024x768 and indeed the forum doesn't fit with in that screen real-estate (checked in firefox on os x 10.5 and unbuntu 9.04)
and font has become pretty small...

How weird
My resolution is 1440 x 900 and my font size is way too big, just the opposite of you two.
I'm on Firefox 3.5.5 in Vista.

Re: Active topics not there?
thanks for all the feedback folks, it is appreciated.
oddness is happening, I will start from scratch later to see if I can resolve these issues.
The forum and the main site are now integrated so that users from the forum can comment on posts from the main site without having a new username and password or logging in twice.
this is what is causing many of the oddities, bare with me, I will fix these issues
