Question about the use of the word "upcycled"

I'm trying to find a word! I make bags like the one in the picture, and other things. I buy the jute from a shop, and after crocheting it into a bag, I use strips of fabric to decorate it. This fabric is from offcuts that has been saved by a lovely seamstress friend who hates the idea of good cloth being thrown away. How should I refer to this fabric? The term "upcycled" means taking used/waste goods and turning them into something useful, but what I'm doing is making a bag with brand new, shop-bought jute and using the rescued cloth just for decoration. So is it right for me to use the word "upcycled"? If not, any ideas what word I should be using please? (I've also used the word "reclaimed" but it brings adverts of mis-sold PPI and stuff to mind so I don't really like that word).

Just be honest about what part comes from where in the description. I always respect that more from sellers than trying to make something sound like something it isn't (and I have no idea about the use of the word!)

I think upcycled creates a image that is not what you're doing so I see your problem but as long as you explain I see no problem. I'm always buying stuff without reading it properly first and then end up with something that's not what I wanted/thought it was but I do realise that's my own fault!

I think that using 'upcycled' to describe the bag as a whole (which is lovely, by the way ) would be misleading, but you could put 'with upcycled decoration' in the details.

According to Wikipedia, upcycled includes using 'waste' items so I think Zech's suggestion is perfect. You could use 'rescued' instead. The bag is lovely.
