Just updating to say I gave the throw to my brother this weekend (we didn't see him until New Year) and he was absolutely delighted with it. (He wasn't just pretending, he really did like it).
So all worth it, but, no more black crocheted throws in this lifetime (at least not without posh daylight halogen lamps or laser eye surgery!).
