New College have just sent out their part-time course prospectus. In amongst the courses for Egyptian Belly Dancing, Pivot-tables for Data Analysis, Hungarian for Beginners and Funerals to Plan For is this one:

Self Sufficiency - The Good LifeLearn how to become more self sufficiency aware. Subjects covered are keeping chickens, keeping bees, growing herbs for culinary and health purposes, growing your own fruit/veg in a small area or containers and making your own beauty products.

Cost £60 for 5 weeks, starting 1 November, 6.30 - 8.30.

In case anybody's interested.

The Self Sufficiency course has been canceled as the leader has let them down yet again. They may have a new leader for the Spring

Hmmm, now that sounds like a plan. Fancy sharing a tutoring post? The only thing we can't do between us is bee-keeping. But we could offer a cooking-what-you-grow module instead.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Bill Turnball of Breakfast TV fame is a keen Beekeeper but I would of thought there was someoner less famous and closer.
Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?

Thanks BB, tv references are normally wasted on me :? .

I spoke to the college today, and they are happy for me to only cover the subjects that I am comfortable in.

Does Shaw Farm know of any Beekeepers that might help you out if you needed one. Good luck with the course.

Excellent, are you going to go for it?

Let me know if you want a guinea pig to practice on, happy to sit through a lecture or two.
