How can I remove skin tags and moles?

Post: # 249844Post Crickleymal »

My doctor froze one of my skin tags off. So I think something like Wartner which is also a freezing product would work quite well. I have read or heard somewhere that you could tie a thread around a tag to cut off the blood supply. As for moles, I don't know. It might be worth getting them professionally checked just too make sure they aren't anything nasty. I did try that wartner stuff on a verucca but it was useless. Is there any reason why you can't get your GP to remove them? At least it would be free.

Why has this thread got stuff about babies and airlines in it?

For skin tags (don't read that out aloud) I pinch them between finger and thumb nail, starting near the base and working up until I find the place where the tag loses feeling. Then using very sharp scissors (Swiss army knife) snip off the skin on the bit that you won't feel. There should be virtually no bleeding, if any, and the stump usually disappears within a few weeks. Probably not the recognised medical way of sorting them but for me it's better than having them grow to a size where they snag on clothing and become sore.

I second that Carltonian Man, I twiddled with mine for ages until it gave up and dropped off.

I have lots of skin tags on my neck, had them for as long as I can remember and as far as I am concerned they are part of me and that is where they are staying  Can understand them being removed though if they were catching on clothing.

For heavens sake though don't go meddling with moles, any worries then see your doctor.

Dave has had several moles that have turned odd and has had them removed at the hospital.

They take my tags of at the Checkout, and I use smoke bombs for Moles.

I would agree with Sue, if they arn't in the way or hurting leave them alone, if they are in the way or hurting go to the doctor.

I can still feel the base of the Wart I removed with a blade from a pencil sharpener in a rather boring Physics lesson when I was 12.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

I don't really know what a skin tag is but for moles for goodness sake do not try any home removal - they bleed like stuck pigs if you have a lumpy one which gets caught in anything and they have roots which need to be cut out too - even if they are benign. Anything that is worrying go to a DOCTOR and you should get referred to a dermatologist for a proper check and removal if necessary.

my husband had a skin tag and he tied some thread round it and it fell off.

your GP can remove moles, either surgically or by freezing. ( husband has had 2 surgically removed )
dont mess with moles yourself, they could be cancerous or somthing.

Does anyone know a good product for removal of skin tags and moles?I have tried TCA 50% acid, with no results.Only got a chemical burn.

I wonder if there is anything else to try.Like Dermatend? How about the herbal oil they are promoting on websites?
Would be very thankful for tips!
