Eventually, a bargain!

Post: # 213144Post Alice Abbott »

We went out this afternoon to try to buy a used twin buggy. We had four to see. Three were the muckiest, most ramshackle and worn out examples you could wish to see. Each one was "valued" at between €60 and €75. Feeling very despondent, we went to see the last one, which was advertised for €25. I was so fed up with the whole idea that we nearly didn't go. After all, if those examples were worth so much, what would the €25 one be like? And there it was, a splendid, almost new buggy. There was a tiny burn mark on the handle and she reduced it by €5 without me even mentioning it.

Here is the previous mode of transport for the twins, then their new chariot. I had to pack them in and take them out to try it out straight away. I suppose it should be pink, but who cares? And it folds up too!

Glad you got a good buy there ... but it does seem a shame they can't be carried about in a shopping basket for a wee while yet ... they look so lovely ...

It sure feels good to get a bargain and you certainly have. I think the other sellers must have had a cheek wanting those kinds of prices so well done for hanging in there.

Thanks.

It's a great buy, they can lie completely flat and will be able to sit up when they are older. Unfortunately, they remain identical after six weeks. No birth marks or any other oddities to tell them apart. I'll have to rely on their bracelets for now and personality differences as they get older. In the meantime poor Geneva is destined to be dressed in greenish clothing whereas Vienna's will be violet. For the time being at least, even if it's a piece of ribbon, a hat (see pic before) or socks. I can't be fumbling about for bracelets all the time! Luca's idea - I'm sure he will be a rocket scientist at some point...

The babies are beautiful and the chariot looks like a stunning new mode of transport. Nice bargain!

Well done you for getting a bargain. I've found that the French like to sell expensive and buy cheap! Some of the prices on leboncoin (equiv to free ads here) and at vide greniers are unbelievable. Yet if you are selling, they want to knock you down.

And your babies are lovely. Hope they start to sleep through the night soon.

Aww, they are so schweet in that baby carrier, they look like two peas in a pea pod! Aww.

You could write their initials on the soles of their feet with permanent marker......

They are absolutely beautiful - that photo of them in the basket should be framed and mounted on a wall for all to see, it's too scrumptious for words.
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

That is such a darling picture of the two of them, definately peas in a pod. I like your method of telling them apart, I never realised that identical twins would look sooo similar that even their parents would have difficulty telling them apart. :?
