Cream replacement for pavlova

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

I'd go with a confectioners' custard - you know like you get in vanilla slices. That's basically custard, however you make it with added vanilla.

Another vote for custard, I was in the same position and used the yolks to knock up a creme patissiere which was according to the birthday boy "best birthday cake ever" I also stuck heaps of strawberries on it and drizzled in dark chocolate...

Thanks guys, was thinking of creme patissiere, i normally put it into fruit flans. Can't go with the banoffee or yogurt, that would mean a trip to the shops too...our goat is drying up lots and we don't have spare milk to make yogurt at the moment. Have got lots of raspberries so will put them on top....roll on sunday for pudding day!!
