Meat Loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans out of the freezer, Cinnamon Pickles and for me leftover veggie fried rice instead of the meatloaf.

The wizard just ordered his dinner, home made burgers with spicy tomato and sweet pepper sauce and home made oven potato wedges with sea salt, garlic and a bit of paprika.

Goulash - it's been in the slow cooker since breakfast, and it will be accompanied by mashed potatoes and swede (assuming I can be bothered by dinner time).

It smells so good!

Chicken satay with mange tout peas and basmati rice, or at least that's what I ordered.
Home produced chicken, home made peanut butter and peas out of the tunnel.
Unfortunately the rice crop failed this year through lack of rain.

Im using up some leftover roast chicken making it into a kind of risotto with the last of my fresh corriander, and got some butternut squash roasting in the oven with my improvised cajun spice mix i made up. :)

Don't know if i'll eat dinner though i'm still full from that massive burger i had a lunch time from the taverna next door. It was very good but very heavy and very meaty and i don't think i can stomach eating any more meat. I might manage some room for the roasted squash though. Just waiting on my macho macho man comming back from a hard day digging holes for the 15 new pear trees he's putting in. Ajde Janko, malce po burzo te molim! :)

It's Saturday so we're having great slabs of home made pizza, dripping with lard. The Brats are having ham & pineapple whilst the distaff side & I are having chorizo, sundried tomato & goats' cheese.

Mum's night off so the Old Man is in the kitchen making chicken curry, an aloo gobi and mushroom bhaji for our dinner. Smells divine...

The offspring have had home made chicken and chips smothered with about half a bottle of tomato ketchup.

Just dispatched 10 chickens today, so I will be making us spaghetti with dreamy mushroom sauce and garlic bread.

Corn beef pasties
Found a suede on the allotment today so made a batch... put in corn beef, suede, potato and onion. worcester sauce and s&p for flavour.

Along with leftover baked chocolate cheese cake. Our local freezer shop has been selling 5 choc philly tubs for £1.00 so with the free range eggs, sugar and bourbons for the base it costs about £2.30 for one large cheesecake.

Pheasant again. If it's seasonal and local and nice, you don't need quite so much variety. So:
I had defrosted a piece of pheasant. Cut up some potatoes and de-stalked kale. Boiled a bit of salted water, just enough, it turned out. (I used to not add salt, but these days I feel the need for it. It's seasalt of course.) Added potatoes, kale, put pheasant on top. All done/hot at the same time. Oh, and I fried some onion in lots of butter to mix in. YUM!

When my husband and I both had to visit the toilet urgently at the same time tonight, I realised that we had not eaten one the same thing today apart from potatoes, and not drunk one the same drink. And those potatoes I had at 1.30, he at 5 pm. Not even the same bread, or butter (he has wholemeal wheat I have sourdough spelt, he has salted butter I unsalted, he uses dripping I olive oil etc. etc.). Nor do we eat together - only once a fortnight, for technical reasons.
This is normal for us now. We have different tastes and since the kids have left, cater to those, each to their own. And are happy and healthy for it. We do plenty of other things together!

Just made 4lbs of sausages from pork belly, pork shoulder, sage (from the balcony), apple, and blue cheese. Took about an hour but it's worth it as it only comes to about £2.50/lb. Basically premium sausage for the price of economy ones. Besides, you can't really find herby sausages here, mostly just cured ones or paprika ones (love paprika, but do miss the variety).

Anyway, those have been portioned off and frozen because I've got a kilo of fresh sardines (£2) to gut and grill for tonight!

Tonight is pheasant casserole with semmelknödel. The pot is currently sitting on-top of the woodburner where it will simmer for a couple of hours. There should be enough in the pot for tomorrow night as well.
