Using T bags to carry your shopping home.

Post: # 249762Post Big Al »

Tbags..

When shopping you might buy some tea bags in your weekly shopping but why not use your t bags to CARRY you shopping home in?

Follow these easy instructions to make large T Bags.

Take a T shirt that you no longer wear.

Cut the arms off.

Place a bowl on the neck and cut around this.

Turn the T shirt inside out and double stitch the bottom then turn it the right way and hey presto you have a T bag to carry your shopping home.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

What a damned good idea Al!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Frankly, given the state of tee-shirts by the time I'm prepared to discard them, we'd be talking string bag

As you are my mentor and guide I'm shocked boboff, really shocked !!
The link below has bonny pictures to make it clearer... http://www.bselfsufficient.co.uk/tbags.htm anyway, what's wrong with loopy juice?? :drunken:

String vests bags can make a comeback. I lost so much weight that these T shirts were destined for either the rag bag or even a tablecloth they were so large,

Now that's a really brill idea to use old printed teeshirts that I've *ahem* 'grown out of' or 'shrunk in the wash ' as I call it
I reckon if you have the facility and the sewing machine, overstitching the neck and arm holes with an overlock type stitch would make it stronger too.

other uses for tshirts usually require cutting into 1inch strips - and I really don't have the hand power to do too much of that

Well you all should know me by now.... if not look at my profile comments. There was a link in the original post but I shrunk it down as it was a direct link to my site and I'm always cautious of self promotion being seen as spam et al.Obviously I shrunk it too much...

Boboff, if I called it a bag for wife It wouldn't have the desired effect and i'd get jumped on for being sexist.

you are still my mentor though. :salute:

Comment from OH,

If I did that, who's going to carry it, you would'nt get it of the ground. :silent: :silent:

As i said ir was either a bag, a duster or a tablecloth and we have a big table. It is always a talking point and even a chat up line ( bear with me here).

Go into asda and they ask if you have your own bags, yes I do and I made them myself, look of disbelief so you pull out the bags [ cloth ones that is] and then you get talking. slip into the conversation you do the housework etc and the women, young girls included are eating out off your hands.
See the secret is that all women hate housework and if you can do it then that means their silly young boyfriends are missing out...

Well that's my loopy juice theory........ or is it just loopy??
