Yup, the apple juice I buy from Lidl is in one of these cartons. However they sell orange juice (very cheap stuff) in glass bottles. Not returnable but recyclable!

It may be worth a look in Lidl because the apple juice I buy in France is exactly the same as in England - it's made in Germany anyway. So they may have the glass bottled orange juice.

Hi nev , its a friend of mine in the west of ireland that does the burning i thought it was a good idea but i would not have the time to make them
but i shall tell my friend about the foil and the burning of it , as she does come up with great idea's on recycling, i think she recycles everything.

got a reply from the council and they said that they are planning on having two tetra pak recyling points in Bristol. They also said that they did not know of the initative from tetra pak to help fund councils and have informed the people working on that project. - So I might have got our council to recycle more

It UK only, I guess there are other ones in other countries too.

We use a lot of tetra pak as we use soya milk.
The address label does not seem to be freepost
I would use it if it were freepost....this is a shame, I send my brita water filters for recycling via freepost, and they are quite heavy compared to tetra pak. Brita have their own recycling plant.

If you open the flaps out at the bottom,you can wash them well in hot water and use them for freezing liquids.They are good in the freezer as they are rectangular.You need to open them flat to get into the corners which might have milk in or whatever they contained.

When I spoke to our council about tetra packs they said that they couldnt recycle them because they were comprised of mixed products and would have to be seperated by hand, so how do smith anderson do it? it says they are just pulped, and then what?

At this rate i will have nothing in my bin at all!!

On my last trip to my favourite shop I discovered they sell four different kinds of juice concentrate; most apple based. Has anybody seen orange or grapefruit concentrate around? After all, most of the juice you buy in tetra packs is made from concentrate - why can't you buy that without the added water? I know you can get it for catering; but the hotel cans are a bit on the large side for me. And although I like the apple and pear stuff, grapefruit really is my preferred breakfast drink...

I think I need to do a bit of googling!

over here in Belgium we have a recycling plan for quite a few years now. We can buy blue plastic waste bags from the town council. These bags are to be filled with tin cans, plastic bottles and tetra packs. Every forthnight the garbage truck comes and pick them up and the bags are taken to a recycling facility.
