A soap and sugar poltice works wonders for drawing out thorns and spelks etc. Its really easy - just put a but of soap onto the pad bit of a plaster - I use the jelly stuff you find in the soap dish or even liquid soap - and the sprinkle sugar onto the soap, the but it on the sore bit! I usually do it last thing at night and by the morning - hey presto no thorn!
Good luck
Helen and Chris

nice tip! - I fondly remember an ointment of my youth that did the same thing - slippery elm! - unfortunately, can't find it any more! :cooldude:

We've not used slippery elm but soap and sugar are always available

Agree with the lavender and tea tree thing though, wouldn't be without either of them, but as a joiner and a sparky we get our fair share of spelks from rough timber and the poltice is a good way of gettin rid of persistant splinters and such, came in handy after picking Sloes too

Oblivion. The only solution. And what we're (probably) all aiming for, one way or another, anyway. At least for a few days (daze?).
When my pursuit of freedom causes harm to another living being, it becomes a dictatorship.
