A Scottish Foraging Odyssey Week 3 (Brooklime)

Post: # 282218Post Oink »

Hi there,

Short and sweet again due to just being too Gawd damn busy all the time.

Brooklime (there I said it).

Known to its Latin friends as Veronica beccabunga (that really is its name)!

I found this on the hills near to me by the side of a pond, in a farmers field.

Leaves first.....

Then the flowers.....

Related to Figwort and Speedwell this can be used sparingly in salads or sandwiches. It's bitter and kind of reminds me of watercress.

Thats all for this week.

Ciao,

Oink.
