Any other foragers in the north west?

Post: # 251017Post Somnophore »

I'm a youngish (28) but quite experienced forager as wild food enthusiast, would love to chat to others in the area and maybe of anyone needs some tips or whatever I can help out or we can learn from each other.

I wish you lived over here! I'd love to be able to identify confidently wild things to eat.

heya, i live in Wigan. I'm interested in foraging but haven't got much experience...i picked some elderberries last year and attempted to make some wine, but i don't think I bottled them soon enough and it all tastes slightly vinigary. will try again this year!

know any foraging hot spots you want to share?

I'm the same as the post above - not much experience, no-one to share it with (the Mrs is an indoors person!) and no idea where to look.

Come spring time if we can all find Somewhere equidistant I'd be happy to give you some pointers on foraging.

I'm in Manchester, and I'd be interested in a group meet.

If we can decide on a location i can lead a foraging walk or if someone else has expertise can team up to lead it. So far I'm Chester, we have lancs and Wigan, so somewhere in Cheshire or lancashire or north Wales would be an idea.

I'm out of the country end of march, I'd suggest April or early may would be a good month, anyone who's experienced in mushroom identification that wants to come and help would be good as I have limited expertise there.

heya, just PMed you.

I'm up for a foraging meet-up...I don't drive so anywhere near a train station is preferable for me...my other half drives so I could probably get other places, as long as no one minds having my other half and 3 kids in tow!

I think the more the merrier, it's good to get kids involved in foraging and things like that young so they grow up knowing about it and don't think it's weird like most people seem to.

We're Warrington and well into the foraging thing, OH is good with mushrooms although I'm better with hedgerow stuff.
