sorry if this has been covered on the forum before, but i can't find anything.
has anyone any experience of solar light tubes?

we're finally getting around to renovating our ruin and because of the layout we're going to be left with a bedroom with little natural light - we'll only be able to fit a very small window if at all. so we're thinking of a solatube. would be great to hear from anyone who's actually got one what they're really like and how much light they give etc.

Re: solar light tubes
There was a thread on the Green Building Forum several months back where people said that that type of thing worked well. I'm not sure whether it was the same brand, but the same sort of thing.

Just to avoid confusion, when I say the Green Building Forum I mean the one at greenbuildingforum.co.uk
Re: solar light tubes
It seems a good application, which can be used to transmit the sun light in to the house.
However, I'm not sure if the efficiency is acceptable. As the material of the tube is not like fiber, diffuse reflectance will happen on the internal side of tube.

I have seen these in use, and the efficiency is really good. They are extremely effective; not a lot of light lost in the reflections.sunnybp wrote:It seems a good application, which can be used to transmit the sun light in to the house.

Re: solar light tubes
We have one, and plan to add many more. They work very well.
