Low energy bulbs 10p each!

Post: # 126550Post Plotter »

Was in a local branch of Morrisons today (Morton Park, Darlington) and Philips low energy bulbs were on offer 39p each or 5 for 50p! Don't know if this offer is long lasting or widespread but I was amazed, after all it doesn't seem that long since they were several quids each. Needless to say I now have a few put by for when I need them!

Tis mightily shocked I am!

I cannot find a LE bulb in Ireland for less than €4.50 and that's just for one! I must admit when I'm back in the UK I stock up on such necessities and bring them all back in the car. If one of those lightbulbs lasts for 6 years, then I've now got enough from Morrisons to last me till 2082 - should just be enough! I'm sure the customs must think I'm a wholesaler or something.

I buy free range eggs here at €2 ish for 6 eggs. In Chesterfield market there are 2 dozen for £1. More of a reason for me to get a few chooks. I stock up on toileteries, crumpets (UK = 50p for 12, IRL = €1.19 for 6) Homebrew beerkits (UK = £7, IRL = €12.50) I could go on and on, but I won't. Looking forward to my next foray at end of the month.
