Yep all a little rushed and originally I was bought in just to do a stright piece about foraging but all fun none the less. It was a shame it overan but to be brutally honest it was also a bit of relief that I didn't have to say much (of course if anyone was to write in and ask for the clip to be shown....).

I guess too its all good experience as I have shyed away from live TV a bit since the terrifying ordeal of BBC breakfast a few years ago. So I'm taking it as a positive experience.

But thanks again for watching everyone and for all of your kind words of confidence, it means a lot.

I had a google and I'm really impressed that you have your face on the front page of the Autumnwatch page and also have now made it to the lofty heights of BBC chefs!!! You are listed there along with the likes of Jamie, Hugh, Antony WT et al.

Please can you give us your recipe as I don't know whether you were using the roots of the wood avens (I don't know plants by common names although I recognise this plant) or the leaves or what? Was your soup savoury or sweet?

And dare I ask the question ....... Was it one you prepared beforehand?

And yep my agent suggested I should ask to go up on the food site, taking a while to sink in really.

That recipe is going up on the BBC site either today or on Monday (but i've pm'd you it).Its a savoury soup and I did have one I prepared earlier but we didn't need to use it. The assitant producer ended up taking it home in the end, quite a compliment. I was using the roots of wood avens(also known as herb bennet) but you can also use a couple of cloves.

It was a nice suprise to see you on the telly Andy. MOH didn't know what I was blithering on about as I shouted at the box.

The guy I share an office with (who isn't an Issher and therefore neutral) , said he was disappointed with the "Idiot with long hair and glasses that he pushes up and down" (Martin) as he didn't introduce you properly, and felt they interupted you.
All the info he got was you were from Bristol and picked the produced with in a mile, he wanted more info about the foraging and cooking side. I was also looking forward to the foraging item that obviously got cut. I bet you spent some time filming that as well.

Any way keep it up, hope to see more of you on the box!.

You were great, Andy. As others have said, an oasis of calm amongst a somewhat shambolic programme - I too was a bit annoyed that you didn't get a word in edgeways and that they ran out of time. I call on the BBC to give you your own show!

What is the flavour of the root of the wood avens then, if one can substitute cloves? Spicy? When I googled it it seems to be used in herbal medicine to prevent stomach problems or similar. The plant looks familiar and now I'm wondering if I've got it in my garden or not - probably not the right time of year to be looking for it though amongst the overgrown dying off jungle that is my wild bit. And thanks for the recipe, now where can I find hogweed and rose hips? Beetroot not a problem.
