I just discovered this site and thought I'd be friendly and say hello!

I got to the top of the local allotment waiting list last Autumn, and have inherited a plot with shoulder high weeds. I and my four boys (husband aged 44, and sons aged 4, 2 and 9 months) are looking forward to spending some time getting thoroughly filthy up there in the spring. The smaller boys love digging (anything, anywhere, much to our frequent mortification!) and I think husband has some romantic notions about sipping homemade pea-pod burgundy while the sun goes down and the boys frolic peacefully around the runner bean frames. Poor deluded soul.

But I'll probably be asking loads of questions, most of them daft, once things thaw out and we get going in the warmer weather.
