Hiya

Post: # 225385Post Polly Tunnel »

Hi there all from a newbie, I'm actually a country dweller but I hope you won't hold that against me  I live in rural Gloucestershire and I try to be greenish and I love furnishing my home with second hand finds. I've had rugs from the tip and one that was dumped in a supermarket recycling centre, I buy on Ebay and I gather and disperse items on Freecycle, I love skips.

I am lucky enough to have the space to grow veggies and fruit and keep chickens and I am into making preserves and bottling my produce as well as freezing.

Travel in the countryside is not green, where I live is very hilly and I couldn't manage to cycle, I do walk as much as possible but it takes more than an hour and a half to walk to the village shop and back so often the only option is the car.

I like knitting especially for our young grandson but I'm dreadful at sewing, I like cooking and gardening and reading when time allows.

We have spent the last 9 years rescuing a semi derelict farmhouse and making it as energy efficient as we can.

Hi there and welcome!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hi Polly

I lived in Glos-Shire for 30 years just outside Stroud so know the area very well. Just love the Slad Valley and hills! The scenery is very diferent in West Yorkshire but just as beautiful in a different way.

I'd like to keep chickens and do have the room but am concentrating on the veggie growing etc in my first 'real' year of ishing.
