Hello from East Yorkshire
Hello from East Yorkshire
Hi people
I am new on this site, 6 months ago we moved to a house with a big garden and a bit of an orchard so now being self sufficientish should be a bit easier. Trying to persuade my three young children to come up to the allotment in this kind of weather was not always easy so I will hopefully be able to grow more and actually look after it properly now it's close to the house.
So far we have three hybrid hens and we love them, we feel like proper farmers lol! We are hoping to get bees in a couple of months too.
Looking forward to being on the site and hearing about other people's experiences.
Best wishes,
Jacqui

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Thanks for all the welcome messages everyone.
Hi Rosendula, long time no see, hope you are all healthy now. I am feeling a bit boring now as everyone else has an interesting user name whereas I just put my actual name!
@faulknerm:
We are up in Driffield so a fair distance from you. I did drive through, or at least near Eastrington fairly recently though as our chickens were from a breeder near Howden. Anyway hello to you too and hopefully we will both get lots of useful info on this site and enjoy sharing our self sufficientish ventures. I may need brewing advice from you at some point (I just saw your first message) as our first ever attempt at cider at the end of last year went mouldy, disaster! I'm thinking it had too much pulp in it. We'll try again this year anyway.
