Hello

Post: # 147999Post goo »

Hello my name is Goo.

I'm afraid most of my ish qualities probably stem from laziness rather than virtue - I can't be bothered to go shopping! I'm really impressed, and feel quite humbled, by the efforts some of you people are making. I will do better.

I live in a small lock keepers cottage, not much garden, just some sloping ground but we have spent the past two weekends making some raised beds to retain some soil for cultivation. Plenty of wild stuff to forage here, my favourite is water cress from the canal - it must be alright I'm not dead yet.

There's an abundance of willow and hazel and I'd like to learn more about using this resource, any suggestions/tips welcome. Basically it is my ambition to become a basket case.
So long as the roots are intact, we're okay!

Sounds like a great place to live - good luck with the willow and hazel and the basketry. It's not something I've done myself - although I have got willow growing in the garden so hope to do something with it in time.

Hello

I'd love to do basket making, I was supposed to go on a course for it, but we had better or more important things to do that day (can't remember what they were now  )

Hey Goo!

Nice to meet you. Basketry has always fascinated me but unfortunately I have neither the knowledge of it or the resources. Good luck to you with all your endevours :)

(oh and the water cress sounds yummy)
