Hi people
I used to keep a couple of pig but they migrated to the freezer (which is still full) as they became v large (250+ kg), This wasn't financially viable as they ate a lot of food.
However, recently I can across some wild boar in managed forest and was impressed by how relatively small they were compared the Monster sized pigs I've previously had. My pig herding love has been rekindled and can anyone recommend a small to medium size bred of pigs suitable for meat?

The farm I help out at has mangalitsas. Sort of medium size. Good for meat and they have curly coats. Which is a bit different.

I've just googled - they are soooo cute. They look like a pig-shaped sheep.clanpowell wrote:The farm I help out at has mangalitsas. Sort of medium size. Good for meat and they have curly coats. Which is a bit different.

They're also pretty friendly. The ones at the farm are anyway.
