Re: Not Quittin' Smoking
I haven't used SNUS since new years... badly craving it... Not so much that I need nicotine, I just miss the feeling.
SNUS <3
I've ordered tobacco seeds to grow my own snus! Hah!

Some of you will be pleased to hear that the pipe is safely consigned to my box of 'I tried it but didn't like it' bits and pieces....

I've never heard of it - please keep us posted!!!southeast-isher wrote:Now i love a good smoke but there are other times when i'm just feeding the nicotine demon or it's just simply not the done thing to smoke where i am. So... i ordered some Nicogel. It's aimed not for quitters but for inbetween smokes so they call it cigarette replacement therapy rather than nicotine replacement therapy. When it arrives and i've tried it i'll report back...
Here's the BBC featuring it on the box:

How's it going with the pipe Thurston? I've dug out two of my pipes and i bought some Mellow Virginia and you know despite it being a supermarket blend i find it a firm favourite higher than a lot of the other bits i bought from the tobacconist. It's very enjoyable indeed.

Ah yes, i've read it now - sorry to hear you didn't like it. As long as you are happy that is the main thing. You can't say you didn't try it.Thurston Garden wrote:Ah, the pipe is in the drawer, as above....
I tried snus recently... it works and was enjoyable though not for me.
MMM, they work - the nicogel things. I got a box of 100 sachets at 0.8mg in size for £15 off eBay. But really you need two sachets to replace a cigarette, which makes sense when i saw online they are also marketed in larger doses. It works, today i've had 1 cigar and 2 pipes... along with the nicogel.

I think I will google that stuff and read more about it. Could come in handy! Just wondering though, do you have to not wash your hands for X amount of time though? Can you rub it on anywhere else?

They say it's to rub in your hands but i read elsewhere you can rub it on your arms or legs... i just rubbed it in my hands... it dries pretty quick so you don't need to rub them together long... it's very simple to use... there's not much to it.

Hi MMM, snus is Swedish... much better for you than smoking imo. The small tea bag pouch goes under your top lip. Info here:

Switching to low-risk nicotine products, like smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and pharmaceutical nicotine, offers smokers a chance to almost completely eliminate their health risks. While these alternative products still pose some very small health risk, a new study at the University of Alberta School of Public Health in Canada shows that in most cases switching is better for reducing lifetime risk than trying to quit.

Re: Not Quittin' Smoking
Sorry, there is so much info on that page and it's a forum as well so I can't see at a glance what snus actually IS. So you put something under your top lip - won't that make you look like those stupid celebs who inject stuff into their lips and have ridiculous trout pouts? Is it just tobacco? Ain't it the same as shoving a load of chewing baccy in your cheek then (if you can even buy such a thing)? Or just shove an unlit fag in yer gob and suck it!southeast-isher wrote:Hi MMM, snus is Swedish... much better for you than smoking imo. The small tea bag pouch goes under your top lip. Info here:
