It looks like a dangerous weapon.
Looks like EU health and safety agree.

Follow the rules we don't want any nasty accidents.
It would be a dull place on here if any thing nasty happened to u.

Autumn day at lotty

Fantastic year for soft fruit. Off to lotty to get some fresh raspberries to take to craft club. Bit more clearing up too. Really trying to get a lotty routine going. Little and often. Really want to get lotty off to a good start next year so I can enjoy it. Better get off and make the most of the a...

Re: What i'm brewing at the moment

Some EM ( environmentally friendly microorganisms) to act as compost activators. Off to lotty to use some on my overflowing compost bins. Then I will top up with water, the dregs washed out from my marmite jar and any carbohydrates and sugars I can find in my cupboards. Looks like the weather should...

Re: Red apple and black current chutney, preserve

Yes the flavor of the black currents is still there with a little bit of a bite too.
I sieved the black currents out in the end and ended up with a acidic jelly .
I think it will be good with cold strong flavored meats.

Red apple and black current chutney, preserve

Just strained my black currents from making black current vinegar and thought why not make some sweet chutney. So I threw in a pan , black currents from the vinegar , apples, onions, beet root, 750 mls of white vinegar, 250 black current vinegar and 2 kg sugar. Given them a nice slow simmer and now ...

Re: Flowering apple tree in august.

It could be stress as it was very dry in June and July . The tree is only 3 years old so I was giving it along with some newly planted trees a real good soaking once and some times more a week. I stopped watering about 3 or 4 weeks ago when I went on holiday. It could be the change in watering that ...

Flowering apple tree in august.

I noticed my ' red love ' apple tree is in flower today . I live in the middle of England and it's supposed to flower in the spring not at the end of August. I think I have a confused apple tree. It's flowers got caught by a late frost so I have only had 4 apples off it this year. I was wondering wh...

Allotment show

Allotment show. Shattered after the long drive from Cornwall to the midlands but dragged myself to the lotty to enter the show. Good results 4 firsts, 2 seconds and a third. I was really proud of my flavored. Vodka , first and second. The trick is I put a chilli in with the fruit for extra bite. My ...

New allotment partner..

Back from two weeks in sunny Cornwall to our yearly allotment show and an allotment full of weeds. Good news I have a new allotment partner. Tracy is going to a local uni in October and has just given up her plot. We are going to share mine as I struggle to do the heavy work and we both love our hom...
