Turmeric

Does anyone know what happened in the end between US and India after the former's attempt to copyright use of turmeric whose properties had been known and used for for centuries if not millennia in India - it was a couple of decades ago I don't know why I thought of it now.

lol - I forgot mine!
Broken chocolate digestives in a mug with cold milk poured over, spooned out - wheaty mush and crisp chocolate. Only once in a while though.

Is it possible to grow potatoes by planting them however deep, leaving the soil level, then covering with newspaper and allowing the greenery to grow through a cut in the newspaper and leaving it at that until the spuds are ready to harvest?

I was worried about the opposite of companion planting when putting some things near each other might affect their growth, in particular I wouldn't want anything to disturb the fruiting of a tree.

I had tilted the lid to one side once I saw germination but it is on a cold window sill. The peat pots are on the compost and the jiffy plugs standing free in the propagator - I won't be tempted by them again!

Doesn't it affect the seedlings and cause them to rot off, though - the general info is to partly the lid for aeration to prevent them dying from problems of dampness
