Re: Recession?What recession???
You have my sympathies, I've just spent 3 days dealing with a national chain to replace one of my son's toys which cost over £100 and broke within 6 months (not wear and tear as suggested by one rude sales person who hadn't even seen said toy!) It's a good feeling when you "win" though (ak...

Re: student employment in glasgow...how hard to find??

Re: Teething
I use Nelsons Teetha granules with my son (9 month old). I also bought him an amber teething necklace around 6 mos as he was teething really badly. I was cynical but it does seem to help.

Keeping baby hats and mittens together, put an elastic band through the peg and you can hang them up too.

Re: natural family planning
the average is ovulation 14 days before your period but it can be more or less than this. Not everyone has 28 day cycles. I did natural famiy planning to help us conceive my son. Basal body temperature, cervical positioning and cervical mucus monitoring all combine to confirm ovulation. I used ferti...

schools in scotland generally finish up at the end of June so you should be ok. Weather is also usually better in June (or March it would appear!)

Re: Breast feeding, socially unacceptable or not?
disappointed to say that I have not been able to openly breastfeed in public having been encouraged by my husband and friends to drape a blanket over my shoulder to hide myself. I didn't like it, I wanted to look at my baby's face. Breast fed in the back seat of the car and felt very self concious ...

Re: how long should/did you breastfeed for?
Ah the joys of health visitors! I had fought for 10 days to get my son on the boob and only managed to get him on with a nipple shield and the HV decided to tell me how awful shields are and my milk would dry up!!!

Re: IBS? (tmi in places)
coeliac is gluten allergy. I'm sure they'll do lots of checks. The colonoscopy is a camera up the bum to check for any weird stuff and sometimes take tissue sample.
Hopefully it's something simple!

Re: IBS? (tmi in places)
I had bowel issues after several courses of antibiotics, put up with it for ages, tried colpermin etc after docs diagnosed IBS (had the joy of colonoscopy too) but they did nothing. Ended up trying colon hydrotherapy. Nurse I saw diagnosed thrush in the bowel, put me on yeast free, sugar free diet a...
