Re: what to do with myself and my land...
Hi Feris, Where do you live exactly? I ask the question, because, maybe in your area, there is a need of extra space for farmers, for sheep or for goats or who knows what else... You could in that case rent that piece of land to someone, their animals would add some good manure to the place and in g...

hello and welcome and good luck with whatever you decide to do 1st. At least with the autumn and winter coming, you will have time to prepare for next spring for the garden with time to decide what to do.

Whoa, what a great bunch!
And what a superb photo of Sevi's face. He looks like a super serious proud cockerel.
I hope the little ones will become great birds too.

Re: Does anyone NOT have a television?
We have a TV... In a box, in the barn... It has been there since we moved to France in March 2012. I missed it a bit, so we got our favourite US series (NCIS, The mentalist...) and we watch that in the evening when we have nothing better to do (fishing with friends until night fall, then "apper...

Re: Brewing beer from scratch the simple way
Well thanks again for all the info. Our beer is now in bottle awaiting the secondary fermentation to be done. At least one thing I am sure after reading all the comments: We won't try to do our own malting, as it seams way too complicated... We already have so many things to do, we don't need to go ...

Re: Brewing beer from scratch the simple way
Thanks guys for all the info. :thumbright: Hubby did his brew using various pots.... At least we have the brew bucket for the end product which has already started to bubble away in a corner in the kitchen. One thing we used was an old large metal pot with a tap at the bottom which was used in the o...

Re: Frozen peas
Very interesting posts.
I have frozen my peas without the blanching, but I am not worried as I am pretty sure we can go through the lot (6kg or so) within 6 months... Hubby just LOVES peas

Re: Hiya, from Finistere in France
Hello
Also in France, in the middle, sort of... I hope your vegs are now growing well with all the sunshine we just had. Better late than never as they say, but that should do for some nice crops I think.
Anyway, enjoy the forum, all the info and the new friends.

Brewing beer from scratch the simple way
My husband made a mistake and bought the grain instead of the ready mix stuff to do some beer. Instead of sending the grain back he decided to have a go at making his own preparation, but it looks very complicated with different temperatures which need to be kept for a while while doing the preparat...

Hi Danny and welcome to this forum
I don't know of any collective farms, but I wish you good luck for finding some and creating your own.
