Re: Argue with this.
But I know if my wife would have been with me she would have cringed and said it was a real "boboff" thing to do... She actually calls me Rob, which is my name, or Tony, when we are pretending to have an affair, but that's irrelevant right now, Just quoting so you don't think no-one notic...

Well, me, TBH. Or, I don't really binge on anything, but I can put away quite a bit. In fact we might have a bit left in the fridge {slopes off, shifty-eyed}. I love asparagus.Durgan wrote:Who binges on asparagus?

Re: red and prosessed meat linked to cancer
And they drink tea......which makes them considerably more civilised than those fruitloops on the Banana site! The 30bananas don't drink tea? Well. That's no good, then. I have to draw a line somewhere! {Goes off sadly to cancel order of durians, pixie tangerines, crates of bananas, and B12 to be i...

Re: red and prosessed meat linked to cancer
Cant link anything (too complex) but inspired by this thread did read excerpts from China Study,I have decided as a result,to give up eating everything. Yes that was pretty much how I felt, so I shall read the ironically named Ms Minger, thank you, and hopefully she has nailed it (so to speak) ;-)....

Re: red and prosessed meat linked to cancer
Can anybody link me to a proper refutation of the China Study? I'd just be interested to see the scientific arguments against it, because when I google I just get nonsense on blogs about it being vegan propaganda (which it certainly isn't: he advocates animal testing).

Re: red and prosessed meat linked to cancer
I don't know, but I think I'm on your side. I've just read the China Study, which does the link between meat (or actually animal protein in general) and cancer, and I thought it was fairly convincing but I'm never sure enough of my grasp of scientific method to judge properly (please don't make me r...

Re: Jubilee
all the palaces ect opened up to the public to generate money from tourism, I'm not particularly a royalist although I have to say I'm much more mellow about it than I used to be, but, aren't all the palaces open to the public anyway? Buckingham Palace is, I'm pretty sure Kensington Palace has just...

Re: Is giving up, giving up
I've been through this and I'm not sure I've got anything intelligent to add, but, I'm really sympathetic and I could have written your post a few years ago (for what it's worth, I gave up, and it's the best thing I've ever done - this is the only time I've felt fulfilled and interested in my life, ...

Re: Dog cruelty?
I do think there's an argument that doing anything with animals that isn't their natural behaviour (e.g. keeping them as pets) oppresses them (I can't think of a word other than oppresses and I know it makes me sound like a terrible left wing parody, so, although I probably am a terrible left wing p...

'' I saw someone riding up our road actually standing up on the seat the other day '' They'd have been on the lookout for stray cattle.......... I just find it odd that we have cows ambling about through the city centre here (I mean not exactly outside M&S but in the centre) but no-one else who...

It ain't a matter of getting better, Susie - it's a matter of your confidence improving. True dat. (That was an attempt to sound like a young person). Potter's Farm, ouch, that sounds nasty (I fell off mine a while ago as well and had a scab! ;-) ). I'm finding wildlife more of a hazard than ...

Cycling. Will I get better at it?
This will sound daft :-(. I have recently started cycling (just short local journeys at the moment). Before this I hadn't cycled in probably 25 years (God, I am so old...). I assumed I would just be able to pick up where I left off (I loved my bike when I was a kid and cycled everywhere), and I can ...
