Thank you all for your friendly welcome. I've been off in the wilds of Derbyshire with no internet access for a week, which is why I haven't replied. I'm afraid I'm not Richard Hammond (in fact, I can't actually drive) but I'm glad my nickname has caused such amusement!

I'm a student living in halls, so my options for growing veg are extremely limited, but I've heard people talking about growing cherry tomatoes on a windowsill. Is this actually possible? How would I go about doing it?
