Re: Crumpets and Staffordshire Oatcakes!
That's funny. I was just wondering the other day how crumpets were made. Yours look perfect StripyPixieSocks! I'll have to get those 9cm rings it says you need and give it a go.

Re: "THE FIT-ISH CLUB"
Well done on fitting into your jeans again Annpan! Can't think of any suggestions on the clothes front  If I had jeans a couple sizes too big, I'd probably make them into a long jeans skirt but that's no good if you don't wear skirts... You could have a play around with your old 'f...

Re: Alternatives to the Mooncup? (a women only thread i guess!)
Hurray! I finally managed to get mine in using lubricant and the 'origami' fold, which I found on this site . Tried the punch-down fold but I couldn't get that to pop out. However... VERY scary five minutes trying to get it out because after walking round triumphantly for a few minutes with it in, I...

Re: Growing Garlic Indoors?
How do you know when the garlic's ready? What does 'wet' garlic look like? This is the first year I've grown it so I haven't got a clue about anything. Also, can you use the 'wet' garlic just like normal garlic?

Re: Alternatives to the Mooncup? (a women only thread i guess!)
Thanks for being brave enough to start this thread! I just got a mooncup as well and I was very sad when I couldn't get it in at all (although maybe that's because I don't actually have my period now, I was just very excited to try it out! ) I like the ideas of lubricant and different folds s...

Re: Lack of Iron
I'm also anaemic and I've been told not to drink tea after or with a meal as it prevents the body absorbing iron.

Re: Anyone else see Monty Hall
I loved this programme. It should have been retitled the Reuben Halls show. The dog made it, he was gorgious as well as his owner. Definitely! The dog and the beautiful scenery were the best bits. He said he wanted to be a 21st century beachcombing but I don't think I ever saw him actually doing an...

Re: collecting seaweed
I saw on River Cottage that all seaweed in the UK is edible - perhaps that goes for Ireland too. I assume the British Isles all get the same seaweed.

Has anyone ever tried making dandelion and burdock? And if so, does it taste like the drink you buy in shops?

Mouldy soil
Hi, I'm growing some herbs in pots on my windowsill and I noticed that the rosemary and the thyme have got a faint fuzz of white mouldy looking stuff on the surface of the soil. Does anyone know what this is? Is it good or bad? Am I watering them too much? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question! I'd...
