I work in a school and am always trying to find cost effective ways of extending our green ish projects - this has inspired me for a whole new way to promote our gardening club. We have...

Marrow Seeds

Paradox, I dried and saved the marrow seeds from a hefty allotment grown marrow a friend gave me last year. There are loads of them and my garden won't support that much, besides which, there is only so much you can do with a marrow! I don't know what proportion is likely to grow, I've stored them i...

Yet...

Not Marrow Rum?

Eeeuuoow!!! That looks scary! If it's bubbling, it's giving off gas so don't seal it with the lid. I'm not convinced you've got alcohol in there. Isn't there some formula where yeast eats sugar a gives off alcohol and CO2 as a by product. plenty of liquid though. Would love to encourage you to try t...

Marrow Rum fantastic stuff. Highly potent. Not sure how it will turn out with a courgette, but could be interesting. I've just started my second Marrow Rum (first one was about 15 years ago and I still remember vividly how alcoholic it turned out - be warned!). I did use yeast. Here's what I'm doing...
