Visit you local building site - they have loads of useful stuff being put in the skip. (The UK building industry is one of the highest in construction material wastage in Europe). Mini poly tunnels (or big cloches)

As I work on building sites I've managed to pick up unused lengths of alkythene pipe and if you put it into a roll and cut it you end up with nice big hoops that can be fastened to boards, pegged to the ground and then stretch polyethene over the top. The lengths I have will cover a bed that's about...

Wild Food Christmas Prezzies

We've decided that this year we would like to give our nearest and dearest home made prezzies. So far we've made sloe gin (and managed not to drink all of it!). We've collected acorns to make acorn flour - but aren't too sure of recipes etc. I'd love to hear of any biscuit recipes or similar using a...

Slugs

I couldn't find the posting about how to deal with slugs so I thought that I'd just write my tip here anyway!! We've managed to keep slugs off plants by putting sea weed around them - its either wet and salty or dry and spiky - either way the don't like it!! After a while you can just dig it into th...

It may be worth consulting a homeopath. I'm not sure that it is cureable but I do know that there is a homeopathic remedy called medorrinum which has something to do with it. BTW don't ask where medorrinum comes from - you REALLY don't want to know!!!
