Re: Guess what I found in my garden?

I admit to the sin of envy! I was digging at the very end of our garden yesterday and found a button and some broken glass. Nowt else. Still, gives me an incentive to carry on digging, as the garden had been neglected for some years before we took it on, so who knows what's lurking in the bits that ...

Re: a year without a shop

I have a feeling I saw this on a Book People sale leaflet for about £7, probably the paperback version. It was quite recently, so may still be on offer, though I don't think £7 is Particularly cheap. I will see if my library has it, but I may be sorely tempted to pay for it if they don't have it...!

I love the camouflage Lambrequin! One of those unexpected variations on a familiar theme that make you sit up and take notice!

Re: Birthday gift help pls

A friend of ours recently celebrated his 50th bithday, and I was able to get him a Practical Wireless magazine (he's into wireless) from the month he was born for about £3 including postage, and also a luncheon menu for a Cunard liner from the actual day he was born for another couple of quid. We al...

We add paper from the shredding machine, all the bills etc with personal details on - I've heard of identity thieves going through dustbins, but never compost bins!

Re: Unwanted CD's.

I don't suppose this is a 'use' as such, but my sister has one of those cast-iron shepherd's crook type lantern-holders in her garden, and for ages now (possibly a few years) she's been popping old CDs onto it. In theory it's to keep them all in one place until she finds use for them as bird scarers...

Re: Should I be concerned yet?

Happy Anniversary! I think it's wonderful that you have such a great resource nearby, and have managed to build such a nice rapport with the Scrapman that he gives you pressies! I agree with the other comments, that true romance is all about spending real quality time together, and it's utterly bril...

Fabulous, I absolutely love it! I have a real urge to get knitting (always comes upon me at this time of year!) but can't due to tendonitis! So frustrating!

Re: help needed 'buying' a wedding gift

I really sympathise with the quandary you're in - you and your sister seem to be so different, and whatever you do will probably be wrong. I guess the thing to do is to give her something that has a value ( to people who have a bit more depth than the average saucer anyway!) and where the intention ...
